To provide those in our communities with physical and developmental disabilities the opportunity to expand their lives through social and recreational activities. By opening the eyes of people, the foundation opens doors for us to become an “inclusive” society.
The Life Adaptive Foundation will provide services to people with different abilities the opportunity to experience the joys and independence of cycling. These experiences can lead to a life-long passion for cycling.
The cycling program is inspired by our work with teens and young adults with traumatic brain injury and disabled veterans.
We aim to raise $60,000 to acquire a trailer and a fleet of adaptive cycling equipment, along with insurance, storage and operating expenses for a year.
The fleet will include a range of adaptive cycling equipment and the accessories to adapt the equipment to fit the unique needs of the participating individuals. Equipment will consist of: Recumbent tandem trikes, a tandem hand-cycle/peddle recumbent trike, recumbent trikes and hand cycles for a start. This collection will be housed in a box trailer, so it can be easily moved from location to location to provide exposure to a wide geographic area.
The program implementation will include participating in an established annual week-long camp program in central Pennsylvania and traveling to locations to support veterans events in the spring and fall. The goal will be to travel to scheduled events and our events to support adaptive cycling. The program will be staffed by volunteers with experience in adaptive cycling and working with individuals with different abilities.
Your support and contributions will help Hayley continue to get stronger and more independent. All proceeds will be directed to her work at Project Walk of New Jersey.
We believe that skiing and snowboarding are sports to be enjoyed by everyone!
